Teeth Filling

Composite bonding is a technique used to improve the appearance of your teeth. The term “composite” refers to a tooth-colored blend of materials, either plastic or resin, which is bonded to an existing tooth.

Bonding is ideal for fixing chipped or cracked teeth, hiding discoloration on the tooth’s surface, or reducing the gaps between teeth. Whatever the specific intent, composite bonding creates more esthetically pleasing teeth and a brighter smile. Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding requires little, if any, removal of the original tooth.
Tooth-colored fillings (bonding) can effectively treat cavities without having to remove large amounts of the natural tooth structure. Not only do you not have those unsightly metal fillings, you also have a tooth that is much stronger.
Natural tooth colored fillings are used as an alternative to traditional metal amalgam fillings. Because composite fillings are bonded to a tooth only the diseased part of the tooth needs to be removed allowing the tooth to maintain much of its strength and integrity. Metal fillings are placed after removing large parts of the healthy tooth. Over time, a crown may be needed because the tooth is weaker and subsequently cracks. With natural tooth colored fillings you will have a beautiful, strong smile.
